(Sports Network) - The Jacksonville Jaguars placed fullback Greg Jones on the injured reserve list on Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
Jones ended his streak of 28 consecutive games played on Sunday due to the injury. The fifth-year veteran has 13 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown in 12 games this season.
The 27-year-old has started 34 of his 58 career games -- all with Jacksonville -- compiling 869 rushing yards and nine touchdowns with 37 catches for 293 yards and three more scores.
The team also announced Wednesday that running back Fred Taylor tore ligaments in his left thumb during Sunday's loss to Chicago. Jacksonville sent Taylor's MRI exam results to the renowned Dr. James Andrews and is waiting on a second opinion before placing him on IR as well.
In other news, the Jaguars signed defensive tackle Attiyah Ellison off of the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad to the active roster, and activated cornerback Isaiah Gardner from the team's practice squad to the active roster. Running back Keon Lattimore was also signed to the practice squad.
