(Sports Network) - Rookie O.J. Mayo had a game-high 28 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists, leading the Memphis Grizzlies to a 102-86 win over the Miami Heat.
Rudy Gay poured in 18 points and Darko Milicic added 13 points and five blocks for the Grizzlies, who have won four in a row and five of six games overall. Mike Conley contributed 12 points, while Darrell Arthur totaled 10.
Rookie Michael Beasley, who sat out Friday's 87-73 setback to the Hawks with the flu, scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to pace Miami, which has dropped two straight following a four-game winning streak. Dwyane Wade finished with 17 points on 5-for-16 shooting, and dished out five assists.
Memphis held a slim 25-22 advantage after the opening quarter and the clubs headed to their respective locker rooms at halftime tied at 46. The Grizzlies led 62-52 early in the third quarter, but a Wade layup closed the gap to 69-64 with just under five minutes remaining.
Arthur then ripped off five straight points to restore a 10-point lead for the home squad and Memphis carried an 81-66 edge into the final quarter.
Mayo hit a pair from the charity stripe to give the Grizzlies a 90-72 lead and Miami failed to pose a threat down the stretch.
Game Notes
Miami's Joel Anthony had 12 points, five blocks and equaled teammate Shawn Marion with a game-high 13 rebounds...Memphis shot 46.6 percent from the field, while the Heat made just 36.4 percent of their attempts.
