LEWISTOWN, Md. - The Frederick County Sheriff's Office says a 10-year-old Lewistown Elementary School student was hospitalized after he assaulted two staff members trying to restrain him.

A sheriff's deputy responded to the school in Lewistown about 10:15 a.m. Monday.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Cpl. Jennifer Bailey says juvenile charges against the boy are pending. The boy was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital, but Bailey says the staffers, a man and a woman, did not require medical attention.

"Why were they trying to restrain him?"  This isn't the 1950's anymore; seems every other day we hear of young kids becoming violent, shooting people, stabbing, robbing, etc.  Odds are very good that this kid has disrupted the class before, possibly even becoming violent.
