WASHINGTON - The Metropolitan Police Department
(web | news) in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a bank robbery suspect.
At approximately 12:19 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2008, a lone male entered the Eagle Bank located in the 2000 block of K Street NW. Once inside, the suspect proceeded to rob the bank of an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing the scene.
The suspect in this case is described as a black male, 6'1-6'3" in height and weighing between 215 and 225 pounds. He is believed to be in his mid 30s to early 40s and is described as having a dark complexion , a thick beard and a raised scar under his left eye.
He was reportedly last seen wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt with navy blue pants and jacket along with a dark knit cap. It is also reported that he was carrying what appeared to be a bright orange construction type "hard hat".
Anyone with information about this case is asked to police at 202-727-9099 or 1-888-919-CRIME. The Metropolitan Police Department is currently offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any armed robbery or a robbery that results in serious bodily injury.
Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to D.C. Crime Solvers at 1-800-673-2777 and to the department's TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. If the information provided by the caller to Crime Solvers leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
