WHEATON, Md. - Montgomery County (web | news) police are asking for the public's help identifying three men and a woman who are considered suspects in the shooting at a Wheaton mall on Tuesday.

Investigators released surveillance video from both inside and outside the Westfield Shopping Towne Wheaton on Friday.

Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two rival gangs in the parking lot. Two gang members fired shots, hitting a gang member once, police said. Two women standing nearby suffered minor cuts from flying glass after a car window was shot out.

Investigators released video of people they consider suspects in the shooting running through the parking lot and into the Macy's department store.

Police released surveillance video of the suspects entering the dressing room (above), and entering the Macy's (below).

Investigators hope to identify a man in a yellow jacket and one behind him, carrying a white food container. Police believe they are the shooters. A female suspect and another male also came in.

Police enter moments later and follow the alleged shooters into a Macy's fitting room.  They later escaped through an emergency exit.  The other two suspects escape through the mall.

Two guns were recovered from the dressing room; both had been stolen in other Maryland jurisdictions, police said.

One 19-year-old man was arrested in the mall about two to three hours after the shooting, police said. He had a handgun on him, police said.

At the Wheaton mall on Friday night, many holiday shoppers said they knew about the shooting that took place there Tuesday. Shopper Donald Smith said he feels safe because the security at the mall is now heightened.

Investigators released a description of the four persons of interest:

  • A black male, 5'10" to 6' tall, weighing 160 pounds. He has short black hair and appears to be 18 to 22-years-old. He was wearing a yellow hooded jacket with black sides, tan cargo pants, and white tennis shoes. Investigators believe he may be one of the shooters.
  • A black male, 6' to 6'1" tall. He was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans with stonewashed fronts. Investigators believe he also may be one of the shooters.
A black male, 5'6" to 5'8" tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds. He appears to be in his early 20's. He was wearing a green jacket and a black knit cap with a white circle near the top of the cap. He was also wearing dark colored shoes.
  • A black female with a light complexion, 5'4" to 5'6" tall, weighing 120 pounds. She has brown hair and appears to be 16 to 20-years-old. She was wearing a white, gray, and black medium length Northface jacket with blue jeans and black shoes.
