(Sports Network) - Oklahoma City finalized its contract with center Nenad Krstic on Tuesday when the New Jersey Nets declined to match the Thunder's offer.
Krstic signed an offer sheet with Oklahoma City last week, giving the Nets seven days to match. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We are pleased to be able to add Nenad to our organization," said Thunder general manager Sam Presti. "He is someone that we feel helps this team in the short and long term. We are excited that he will be a part of the Thunder as we continue to build our team here in Oklahoma City."
Krstic, selected by the Nets with the 24th overall pick of the 2002 NBA Draft, spent four seasons with New Jersey and averaged 11.3 points with 5.7 rebounds. He signed with a team in Russia's Superleague A in the offseason and played seven games.
The 7-foot native of Yugoslavia had his best NBA season in 2005-06 when he averaged 13.5 points and 6.4 rebounds in 80 games. He had his 2006-07 season cut short by a torn ACL in his left knee.
Oklahoma City also waived center Steven Hill to open a roster spot for Krstic.
