Va. Tech students hold unofficial vigil for slain officer
On campus and in D.C., the reactions to the Virginia Tech shootings were deeply felt. Although a candlelight vigil originally planned for Thursday at 8 p.m. was postponed, an estimated 125 students showed up for an impromptu vigil on campus.

Virginia Tech Police have identified the officer murdered today as Deriek W. Crouse, 39, of Christiansburg. He is survived by his wife, five children and step-children, and his mother and brother.
