Today's Forecast

ABC7's Brian van de Graaff

Plenty of sunshine today and milder with some rain and a few wet flakes possible tomorrow!

With high pressure to our south, we will have a dry and pleasant day. In fact, it will be the best day of the work week, featuring a good dose of sun with some high clouds and high temperatures around 50 degrees. By tonight, however, a storm system over the Lower Mississippi Valley will head northeastward and will spread moisture into the area overnight into Tuesday. Light rain will develop early Tuesday and it may mix with wet snow, especially north and west. We could see a slushy coating to an inch in the far north and west, mainly north of I-70 and along the Blue Ridge. The storm will exit Tuesday afternoon so precipitation should end by then with chilly highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Behind the storm comes high pressure and drier weather for Wednesday and Thursday. However, temperatures will remain below average with highs only in the low-mid 40s. By Friday, we will get more of a southerly breeze and readings may rebound to near 50°. Have a great day!
