Today's Forecast

ABC7’S BRIAN van de GRAAFF

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect far NW of DC for Frederick, Carroll and Washington Counties in MD as well as Morgan County in WV.

A cold rain will fall across the metro region today with a few flakes possibly mixing in, but you have to head far north and west for accumulating snow.

An area of low pressure is going to pass to our south, bringing with it some off and on precipitation today. Most of the metro region will have a cold, raw rain with a few flakes possibly mixing in later in the day as the storm pulls in some cold air. The best shot for any wintry weather today will be to the far north and west where a wintry mix to snow will fall, especially in higher terrain in areas 1,000 feet and above! As for road temperatures, they are running in the mid to upper 30s N&W, but still be on the lookout for slick spots. The moisture wraps up later today with skies trying to clear out by this evening. Tomorrow and Thursday bring added sunshine and continued cool temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. We stay dry into the weekend with warmer air taking temperatures to near 60° by Sunday.
