ABC7’S BRIAN van de GRAAFF
Crisp start followed by a sunny and delightful afternoon….
Temperatures plummeted into the 30s overnight under clear skies…even downtown! We are expecting lots of sunshine today with temperatures still above average, into the middle 50s. But tomorrow, as the high pressure center moves out, our next storm system and cold front will approach. The result will be rapidly increasing cloudiness on Thursday with rain developing by the evening. The rain could be moderate at times through Thursday night with even some rumbles of thunder.
By Friday, a strong cold front will cross our area and it will most definitely begin to feel like late December. Look for strong, gusty winds on Friday with partly sunny skies. A few flurries will be possible, especially north and west of Washington. (Higher elevations and the mountains are under a Winter Storm Watch for 6 + inches of snow!) Dry and seasonably cold weather is forecast for the weekend. Have a great day!
