Today's Forecast

It's Ugly Holiday Sweater Day on NewsChannel 8 - tune in and don't miss out! :)

Clouds will be abundant today with much needed rain developing later this afternoon….

A few peeks of sunshine this morning will give way to a mostly cloudy day with rain developing tomorrow during the latter part of the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to peak near 50°. Overnight showers could be accompanied by some thunder and lightning with a lingering sprinkle and or flurry early tomorrow morning. The winds will be a big story as well, picking up this evening and howling tomorrow out of the west, ushering a more winter like feel and only fitting as the season kicks off at 6:12am.

The gusts will continue Saturday (with potential power outages; wind-related advisories likely to be posted for this event) before high pressure builds in Sunday with lighter winds. The next weather maker will be a cold front that passes through on Christmas Eve with a chance of a few light showers. High pressure returns on Christmas Day with good sunshine and seasonable temperatures. **Note: If your travel plans take you into Western Maryland, Western W.Va. or Western Pa., be prepared for blizzard conditions Friday into Saturday as lake-effect snow and upslope snow moves across the Alleghenies. Have a great day!
