ABC7’S BRIAN van de GRAAFF
Not as windy but still bitterly cold...
As I pen this here this morning, the temperature at DCA has dipped to 15°! The last time this happened was in March of 2009. Expect a little less wind, but the intense chill lingers. Overnight, a quick moving system could put down a coasting (possible up to an inch), especially south of town before booking out of here. So, keep that in mind as you head out early Thursday. Otherwise, expect a partly sunny and crisp day with highs once again near 30°.
We continue to monitor a potential winter system for Friday as two system merge to our west. At this point, it continues to look like light snow (no ice) and once again will be a fast mover. This is no major storm but whether it's sweepable or shovelable is still to be determined. My colleague Adam Caskey breaks this down further in his latest blog - check it out here! Skies clear for the weekend with chilly temperatures in the 30s all weekend, but with lots of sun. Stay warm and have a great day!
