ABC7’S BRIAN van de GRAAFF
Wind Advisory area-wide until 6pm today…sustained 25-35, gusts to near 50MPH
Multiple River Flood Warnings throughout the day as some continue to spill over their banks
Coastal Flood Advisory until 8AM for tides 2 feet above normal for Anne Arundel, Calvert and St Marys
The morning commute will feature damp roads but the heavy rain has pushed through. We picked up some impressive rainfall amounts yesterday with some spots upwards of 3+ inches! The typical flooding hotspots could still be under water this morning, so use extreme caution, turn around and don’t drown. Gusty winds and falling temperatures will be the main story today as winds could gust up to 45mph at times. Mild morning temperatures will drop back and/or level off in the upper 40s.
A brief period of snow possible Friday morning as an upper-level feature follows behind the front. Otherwise, look for afternoon clearing with even colder temperatures in the 30s. A second upper low will follow in the colder pattern with a chance of snow Saturday evening and into Sunday. In both cases (Friday morning and late Saturday into Sunday), accumulations will be light (less than an inch). It appears the cold pattern will continue through the middle of next week. Have a great day!
