ABC7’S BRIAN van de GRAAFF
Clouds return today with noticeably cooler temperatures…
Clouds will thicken and lower today ending up nearly ten degrees cooler than yesterday. At this point it looks like mainly light rain is possible later tonight/early tomorrow morning as a coastal storm begins to organize. I light wintry mix is possible, mainly north and west along Interstate 70 and the Shenandoah Valley, where precipitation could begin with a bit of snow, sleet and freezing rain before changing to rain. Clearing will take place Friday evening, with gusty winds developing Friday evening into Saturday. This will be a much bigger storm off the New England Coast with more than a foot of snow possible and blizzard conditions early this weekend. It's just developing too late to bring our region any appreciable precipitation.
The weekend will be mostly sunny, albeit windy to start out behind the "bomb" of a storm moving away from the Northeast. Saturday will be cooler with highs around 40°, but bump up to near 50° by Sunday. The next low pressure moves in from the west and brings a quick shot at rain Monday with dry weather on Tuesday. Have a great day!
