Today's Forecast

ABC7’S BRIAN van de GRAAFF

A low pressure system passing to our south will ensures abundant clouds today but temperatures will push to seasonal levels, into the middle 40s. Rain showers develop into the afternoon for most of the region with some snow in the higher elevations west. Expect a change-over from rain to snow from west to east by the late rush/evening in the metro area. With mild temperatures of late, most roadways should just be wet with minor coating on mainly grassy areas. Areas north and west of town (think western Frederick, MD to Western Loudoun, Clarke and Page, VA) could possible pick up an inch or two, but even their roadways will be mild. Western slopes of the mountains could see 3 to 5 inches and they have a Winter Weather Advisory in place. Overnight lows may dip near freezing, so be on the look-out for a few slick spots early tomorrow.

Thursday brings the return of sunshine and mild temperatures once again near 50°. Friday brings a similar set-up with an Arctic blast in store for the weekend. We will be hard-pressed to get out the 30s Saturday and Sunday with a passing flurry or light snow shower. Have a great day!
