Today's Forecast

FROM ABC7’S BRIAN van de GRAAFF | FRIEND ME ON FACEBOOK AND FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER: @ABC7BRIAN

Another brisk start, but with less wind it will be more comfortable today, despite increasing clouds.

The gusty winds calmed overnight as pressure moves overhead today, bringing a more comfortable day. However, high, thin clouds will increase through the day as a southern system edges towards the Carolinas. Expect rain to move in around midnight (from the District South and East) and exiting by the morning rush. Much of the Shenandoah Valley and I-70 corridor will remain dry overnight. Only minor rain amounts are expected in Washington with perhaps up to ½" from Fredericksburg south. If you are headed to the Nats game tonight, it will not be as cold as last night's game, but there will be a chill through the later innings - but it will be dry.

Clouds will part Friday morning and northwest winds will increase a bit as the low departs. However, high pressure quickly gains control this weekend with a milder trend in store. Saturday will feature mild temperatures around 60s with mid and upper 60s by Sunday! A weak front approaches from the west Sunday with a shower or two, mainly over the Blue Ridge and points west. Behind this front, temperatures warm Monday and Tuesday into the 70s! Have a great day.
