Meet the National Zoo's baby red pandas Pili and Damini
Two female red panda cubs were born at the National Zoo earlier this summer and were named Thursday, Sept. 22. One cub was named Pili, which means “clap of thunder” in Chinese. Her twin sister is named Damini, which is Nepalese for “lightning.” Their parents, Shama and Tate, couldn’t be happier.
