Daily Eye Wonder October 2011
A collection of the region's best weather related photos and images and other things we found curious or a wonder for the eye
Snow from Last Winter
This photo was taken from an aircraft flying at 28,000 ft on Sunday 23 October over the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, close to Yosemite National Park in California. The snow, seen primarily on the north facing slopes of the mountains, is leftover snow from last winter. It did not have an opportunity to melt or sublimate this summer. There will be much more snow in the coming months to add to what is already on the ground.
