Atmospheric River

This is a look at a water vapor image from last week of an atmospheric river. It is basically a river of high moisture in the atmosphere and by finding it you can see the potential for flooding downstream. In this case, some areas on the coast of Oregon recieved 10 or more inches of rain over the past week and it was forecast to happen giving the necessary and critical lead time.
