Hoarding photos: Hoarding task force seeks to clean up, avoid dangers
When trash, household items, animals (dead and alive) and other items pile up to the extent that it can be classified as hoarding, the problem can become not only mental, but also a serious physical danger as well.
There are three main reasons obsessive-compulsive hoarders keep things around, Dr. Michael Tompkins says.
