Vochol: Huíchol Art on Wheels (picture 2 of 3)
The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian continues to celebrate one of Mexico’s indigenous communities with the unveiling of “Vochol: Huíchol Art on Wheels.” Huíchol artisans spent more than 9,000 hours transforming a 1990 Volkswagen Beetle into an eye-popping masterpiece. More than 2 million glass seed beads were used.
