Health food staples: What to buy - and keep - in your fridge this season
It's almost bathing suit season, and we're all paying a bit more attention to our waistlines. Healthy eating is key to getting and staying in shape, so take a look at which health foods should be a mainstay in refrigerators and pantries this season.
Beans
They are loaded with protein, calcium, potassium and magnesium. Around one cup of cooked beans provides as much as 17g of fiber. Beans can “help starve off heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and even breast and colon cancer,” said Corey Schwartz, a certified health and fitness specialist and the founder of RemixYourHealth.
