Crop Circles in the Desert
The Wadi As-Sirhan Basin in Saudia Arabia seen from space. A false color image from the Landsat satellite. Each circle is about 1/2 mile across and is center-pivot irrigation. Water is tapped by wells about 1/2 mile deep to grow crops in the desert. It's estimated this deep water source may only last another 50 years. Added by Bob Ryan
