Retro lunch box photos: Packing your food in style

Remember when picking out a new lunch box was a big deal? Back in the day, the metal lunch box was somewhat of a personal statement about our favorite TV show or the comic book characters we pretended to be at recess. We'll get ready for a blast into your lunchroom past! Here are some of the coolest, retro lunch boxes that held all of those beloved Wonder Bread sandwiches and Twinkies.



Who wasn’t a fan of the Muppets? This lunch box made its debut in school cafeterias around the country in 1979. It’s one of 75 illustrated metal masterpieces at the museum.
