RNC takes over Tampa: Politicians and protestors take the city
It’s not just the nation’s top Republican politicians that descended onto Tampa this past week for the Republican National Convention. Protestors equaled politicians as they rallied on the sidelines of the major political convention.
Merle Widmer flew down from Peoria, Ill. by himself for the RNC, although he doesn't have access to the venue. Widmer, a Romney supporter, sold his office products business in 1992, ran for his local school board two years later, and was eventually elected to the county board, unseating the Republican incumbent.
