Satellite Discovers a New Black Hole
When I first saw this image, I thought it was a colorful lollipop, but that's not the case. This is actually a black hole. NASA's Swift Satellite recently detected a rising tide of high energy X-rays from a source toward the center of our Milky Way galaxy. The outburst was produced by a rare X-ray nova.
