A Quadruple Lunar Halo Over Spain
A beautiful winter sky captured in Madrid, Spain. The moon shines bright against the dark blue sky, but also notice the ring around the moon. That's a lunar halo. If you look close enough, there are actually about four surrounding the moon. The ice crystals in the atmosphere act as a lens that reflects light from the moon to create this halo phenomenon.
