A View of Earth at Night
The data comes from the Suomi National Polar Orbiting Partnership (NPP) Satellite. To capture every part of the Earth with a clear view, the data was compiled from 9 days of orbit in April 2012 and 13 days of orbit in October 2012. City lights, gas flames, auroras, wildfires, and the reflected moon are all captured via the satellites Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite.
