PHOTOS: Canal Park ice rink opens for the season
Lace up those skates! Washington's Canal Park ice rink is open for the season. Mayor Vincent Gray was there Friday morning to drive the resurfacer and celebrate. The park is at 200 M St. SE.
Raymond LaFond owns Olympia ice resurfacer dealerships in 24 states and helped determine the driving pattern for Canal Park, since it's a uniquely shaped rink. (This machine should not be called a Zamboni, he noted, which refers to another brand of ice resurfacers.)
