Wellness Wednesdays: Top ways to have a healthy Thanksgiving
It’s a day to be thankful, merry and to be among those you love—but, as you are feasting with friends and family, keeping a watchful eye on your consumption may prevent any post-Thanksgiving waistline regret. The average American will consume more than 4,500 calories and 229 grams of fat on Thanksgiving Day alone, the Caloric Control Council said.
Know, and stick to, serving sizes
It's typical to try to over-stuff your oversize plate with as much as you can fit on it and call that one helping. But, the truth is, servizing sizes are usually much, much smaller. For example: a serving of mashed potatoes is equivalent to the size of half of an apple.
