Large numbers of passengers and luggage que up for attempted airline departure at Washington's National Airport, Wednesday Jan. 10, 1996. Most airports along the East Coast reopened Tuesday, freeing many travelers who had waited days for runways to be cleared of plowed snowdrifts.
