PHOTOS: Thousands freeze their fur off at the Polar Bear Plunge

Thousands took a dip in the frigid Chesapeake Bay Saturday for the the 17th Annual MSP Polar Bear Plunge, which benefits Special Olympics Maryland. The event was expected to bring in $2.8M for the organization.

Baltimore resident Angela Medley, who volunteered with Special Olympics track and field programs while in high school, participated in her first Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis.
