The Stormwatch7 Weather Team's Favorite Daily Eye Wonders of 2012

The Daily Eye Wonder is a collection of some beautiful, strange, interesting, and fascinating pictures of weather, environment and space that might let you wonder.  Here are the Stormwatch7 Weather Team's favorite photos this year.

Mammatus Clouds Over Saskatchewan

Normally when you look at the clouds they have flat bottoms, but these are rounded. What's with that? Well, these are mammatus clouds. As cloud pockets develop, which contain large water droplets, the droplets sometimes fall into clear air as they evaporate. You don't see mammatus clouds everyday, but they are neat to see. This image caputred from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
