D.C. high schools compete in FIRST robotics competition

At least 10 D.C.-based schools entered this year's FIRST competition, which was dubbed the "Ultimate Ascent". Teams were challenged to build remote control robot to "fling Frisbee-type discs through targets and climb 10-foot-tall pyramids for extra points."

Kris Comeforo, 26, is a mentor to the 24 "AnaDroids" team members from Anacostia High School in the FIRST Robotics Competition's (FRC) D.C. regional, which took place at the Washington Convention Center on Mar. 29-30, 2013.
