PHOTOS: Monstrous tornado tears through Oklahoma City suburbs

A monstrous tornado as much as a mile wide roared through the Oklahoma City suburbs Monday, flattening entire neighborhoods and destroying an elementary school with a direct blow as children and teachers huddled against winds up to 200 mph.

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, right, walks through the Steelman Estates Mobile Home Park, which was hard hit in Sunday's tornado, with Albert Ashwood, left, Director of the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management, near Shawnee, Okla., Monday.
