They were husbands, wives, parents and professionals. And while each of the victims of the Navy Yard shooting has their own story, they all share one thing in common - they were all loved by friends and family who are still dealing with their tragic deaths.
Marine engineer and naval architect Vishnu Pandit, 61, preferred the nickname Kisan, the Hindi word for "peasant." Married to his wife Anjali since 1978, Pandit had two sons and a granddaughter. "He was a real family man and he loved dogs," including the family's golden retriever, Bailey, said longtime friend M. Nuns Jain.
