Bruce DePuyt

Bruce DePuyt is the producer and host of “NewsTalk,” News Channel 8’s daily interview show.

Bruce is a veteran journalist, having covered local, national and international issues for nearly 25 years.

Bruce knows the players -- and he brings them together every day for spirited, informative conversation.

His coverage of local and state politics contributed to ABC7/NewsChannel 8 and Politico’s 2013 Cronkite Award. Washington City Paper named him DC’s “best newsmaker” and readers of the Washington Blade chose him as their favorite TV personality.

NewsTalk airs weekday mornings at 10am -- with replays at 1pm and 11:30pm.

In addition to hosting NewsTalk, Bruce is a regular on WAMU Radio’s “Kojo Nnamdi Show” and he often participates in community forums throughout the region.

Before joining NewsChannel 8, Bruce was a reporter and anchor at WVIR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Charlottesville, Virginia. Prior to that he served as reporter and anchor on "Cable News 21" in Montgomery County, where his weekly talk show, “21 This Week," was honored with a national CableAce award.
