Jacqui Jeras

Jacqui Jeras is the meteorologist for Good Morning, Washington and can be seen weekdays from 4:30-7:00a and during Good Morning America.  Jeras joins WJLA from CNN where she was a meteorologist and weather reporter for more than a decade. Her coverage of Hurricane Katrina helped the network earn a Peabody Award. Jeras also covered other major weather and science events including Snowmageddon, the EF5 Joplin tornado, Mississippi River Flooding, and the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.

Prior to CNN, Jeras worked at WHO-TV in Des Moines, IA, WEHT-TV in Evansville, IN and KCAU-TV in Sioux City, IA.  Jeras is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist with the American Meteorological Society. She has also earned the seal of approval from the National Weather Association. She currently serves as NWA's Recertification Chair.  Jeras has a B.A. in Journalism from Iowa State University. She was was honored as ISU's "Outstanding Young Alumnus"  in 2006. She also has a Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.  

Jeras lives in Fairfax  County, Va. with her husband, two children and their dog, Astro.  She loves biking, hiking, adventure races and most activities outdoors. Jeras grew up in the Midwest and loves the snow.
