A federal judge has barred the District of Columbia from implementing a law that purported to give the city the ability of the city to spend its local tax dollars without authorization from Congress.
Oral arguments are set to begin in a lawsuit that's pitting one branch of District of Columbia government against another.
A House committee has advanced D.C.'s Budget Autonomy bill. The move would give the District of Columbia more control over its municipal budget.
