The DC Taxi Commission and Uber have been fighting over customers for years. But it hasn't stopped the commission from learning from its competitor. Now, there's a controversial proposal on the table that may end up costing you more money.
A proposal introduced by two D.C. councilmembers may allow cab drivers to price by demand rather than their meters if a rider books by smartphone or online, as services like Uber do.
The D.C. Taxicab Commission on Wednesday released the proposed design for the District’s new cabs. The cabs will be red with a grey stripe on the side.
