Yogurt maker Chobani says the mold that triggered a recall of some of its Greek yogurt cups this week is not associated with foodborne illnesses like salmonella or E. coli.
A week after beginning to voluntarily pull some of its yogurt products from store shelves due to mold, Chobani is now issuing an official recall of hundreds of cups of yogurt.
ABC News reports that Chobani yogurt cups bearing the code 16-012 and boasting expiration dates between Sept. 11 and Oct. 7 have a common type of mold that is found in numerous dairy products.
