Department Of Public Works
It’s quitting time on the 300-block of C Street Northwest – but the traffic jam here is from these two DDOT parking enforcement vehicles, which are blocking the bulk of both traffic lanes in order to write tickets.
The cans are filled to the brim and trash is left uncollected because of the partial government shutdown. So the mayor has announced a temporary solution: the District’s Department of Public Works will step in.
D.C. residents who have compliments (or issues) with the city's public services, such as DDOT, the Department of Public Works and otherwise, now have a chance to rate the people and agencies that serve the District.
D.C.'s street sweeping season officially resumed on March 1, with parking enforcement set to start March 12. But one D.C. street already received an unfortunate surprise: $100 parking tickets given in error in Columbia Heights.
