Calling out for "religious freedom," 5,500 Roman Catholic protesters flooded the National Shrine on the Fourth of July, protesting a federal mandate in the health care reform act.
A special Mass was held on Sunday at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception for couples celebrating at least 25 years of marriage. Eleven of the couples have been married for 70 years or more.
