Police have identified John Wesley Jeffries, 60, of Fredericksburg, as a person of interest in the apparent double homicide of a husband and wife in Fauquier County Sunday. Nelson Slack, 80, and Ethel Slack, 74, were found dead at 7282 Bunker Hill Rd.

A 13-year-old girl escaped from an attempted kidnapping Wednesday morning in Bealeton, Fauquier County Sheriff's officials say, and a search is underway for two suspects.
