Legendary New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera made his final appearance at Yankee Stadium Thursday night, retiring four Tampa Bay Rays hitters on 13 pitches before being pulled from the game by his fellow long-time Yankees Derek Jeter and Andy Pettite. Rivera received a four-minute standing ovation from Yankee Stadium fans.
Mariano Rivera announced Saturday that he will retire at the end of the season and hopes to cap his record-setting career by winning another World Series with the New York Yankees.
