Mark Twain Prize For American Humor
Newly retired from "The Tonight Show," Jay Leno is now being awarded the nation's top humor prize for following in the tradition of satire and social commentary of Mark Twain, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced Wednesday.
Sunday night, Carol Burnett will receive the nation's top humor prize at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Top entertainers including Julie Andrews, Tony Bennett, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will pay tribute to Burnett as she receives the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
Comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be on hand to honor Carol Burnett when she receives the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor this fall. Julie Andrews and Tony Bennett are also scheduled to attend the event.
Will Ferrell, who refined his impersonation of President George W. Bush on "Saturday Night Live" and later took his presidential act to Broadway, was awarded the nation's top humor prize Sunday night.
