Heavy rains that began falling Thursday night have caused numerous power outages across the Washington D.C. area.
Dominion Virginia Power's outage website on Thursday showed 1,500 outages. The company is the state's largest utility with 2.4 million customers.
More than 1,500 customers remain without power Wednesday after strong storms rolled through the D.C. region.
