A Tyrannosaurus rex is joining the dinosaur fossil collection on the National Mall after a 3,000-mile journey from Montana.
The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History announced Friday that the travel and delivery of a rare Tyrannosaurus red fossil, meaning that arrival celebrations for the dinosaur bones have been canceled.
The Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History is acquiring its first full Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton for eventual display in a new dinosaur hall planned for the National Mall.
