Summer is holding onto its identity to the very end! With fall set to debut at 10:29 tomorrow evening, this last full day of the waning season will be appropriately warm and characteristically humid. Until a cold front arrives later today, look for partly to mostly sunny skies, high temperatures in the mid to upper 80s, dew points in the lower 60s, and the chance of showers this afternoon. As high pressure builds in overnight, winds with shift to the northwest and by tomorrow we won't need a calendar to tell us that fall has arrived. Look for noticeably cooler and drier air on Monday with highs in the low to mid 70s and plenty of sunshine. As the week goes on, the forecast is mostly a marvelous monotony with each day featuring mostly sunny skies, temperatures in the 70s, and little chance for rain. The cooler than normal week is expected to turn a bit warmer by week's end with highs closer to the seasonal norm of 78. NOTE To date, September has been much warmer than normal - by 3.2 degrees - and much drier as well with rainfall down 2 inches for the month. Still, the year has been bountiful and we're running a 5 inch surplus. Enjoy your Sunday and the waning hours of daylight. As the autumnal equinox announces, the sun comes up at 7 AM and goes down at 7 PM.
