The persistent area of low pressure that has kept this week so cloudy and unsettled is finally moving out. High pressure will start building into the region tomorrow. As this next system strengthens, temperatures will climb through the 80s and into the 90s over the weekend. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible this evening and again tomorrow afternoon. As we get into the holiday weekend, shower and thunderstorm chances will be pretty low. In fact, most of the weekend will be rain free.

The weather headline for the weekend will center around high temperatures soaring to 90 degrees. With all the outdoor activities you might have planned, I just wanted to talk about shower and thunderstorm potential for a moment. As I stated above, rain chances are going to be on the low side. It is not impossible there could be an isolated thunderstorm late Saturday or Sunday afternoon…but the better chances will develop on Monday afternoon. I do want to mention that an area of low pressure will develop off the Southeast U.S. Coastline over the 24 hours. It will have to be monitored closely because it could affect parts of the east coast this holiday weekend.
